Fantastic Birthday Adventures!

Last year, David had a terrible stomach flu on his birthday. He was miserable. This year, we either over-compensated for last year or David was just at an age to really enjoy and appreciate his birthday. It feels like the best birthday ever.

At school, they set up the wading pool. He loves the wading pool so his day started off great. When we picked him up, we took him to a bounce place. He loves bounce houses. This one has a lot of slides.

We had an ice cream cake. David doesn't like cake. He LOVES ice cream. The candle was fun for him this year but he ate only the top part of the ice cream cake. I think next year we'll order ahead to get one that is only vanilla because the chocolate was not his favorite.

We then went to a pool. David loves to swim. It may be his very favorite thing to do. This pool is an "adventure pool" as we have taken to calling them. It's shallow but has a lot of spraying water and slides and tubes. He was thrilled!

After the pool, David opened his presents from us. All of his presents were a huge hit! We only got him a book and a toy because we got him the adventures too. It was nice to see him enjoy the toys though. That hasn't always been the case.

It was an absolutely amazing birthday!

Sometimes we all appear in photos...

... but not too often ;)

Nothing like a pool (except maybe a pool and bubbles!)

David has been enjoying the wading pool in our yard. A LOT!

We recently discovered that if you are all wet, you can catch and hold bubbles!

Aquarium adventure

We recently took a trip to the city to go to an aquarium. It's a huge hit every time we go. The family membership has really paid for itself! ;)

I'll spare you endless photos of fish and will just post my favorites of Dave and David. My boys are so cute together!

(The photography is terrible on this shot but I love the interaction between David and the dolphin. In my defense, no flash is allowed at the aquarium and I was taking the photos with a brand new camera.)

David loves to look at the sky line and the harbor. We have found that the cafe is one of the best places to look out on the water.

Ok... a couple of my best photos of the day too...

And on the way back to the car, we walked past another famous attraction...

Tin (or aluminum) anniversary

On Friday, Dave and Min celebrated ten happy years of marriage. It's been an amazing journey! We can't wait to see what the next ten will bring.

This photo is from our recent vacation.

Since I am posting vacation photos, here are two more of my favorite photos from our trip.

First, here's a family photo. :)

Second, this photo is for our daughter. She's not home yet but next year our family will need all four of these recliners.

All Aboard

We got to visit a local farm museum that has a train. The train is a small size with open passenger cars. David loves riding on trains!

We had a funny event happen at the ticket counter. My husband was asked, "How many in your family." He automatically responded, "Two adults and two kids." The funny part is that our daughter is still in South Korea. Apparently, she needed a ticket too.
